Carmelita Jeter

Carmelita Jeter is a sprinter. She was born in the United States in 1979. Before becoming a three time Olympic medalist her interest was in basketball. During high school she played the sport, but it was soon realized that she had skills in sprinting. She is considered the second  fastest woman in the 100m (the  Florence Griffith Joyner record still holds ).  The Shanghai Grand Pix record was 10.64 seconds. Jeter’s  winning streak  was in the World Championships.  She won a total of three gold metals between 2007 and 2011. During the 2012 London Olympics she won gold, bronze, and silver medals. The fastest running speed she achieved was 6.84 seconds in a 55 meter event. Jeter is truly an accomplished athlete.
